Liverpool loan star Neco Williams is keen to join Fulham permanently this summer, Football Insider has learned.
The 20-year-old has made a big impact on loan at the runaway Championship leaders since signing in the January window.
A Fulham source has told Football Insider that the club will try to sign Williams full-time if they secure promotion back to the top flight.
In turn, Williams is believed to be planning to tell Liverpool he wants to join Fulham permanently and establish himself as a Premier League regular.
The Wales international’s first-team path at Anfield is blocked by Trent Alexander-Arnold, regularly hailed by Jurgen Klopp as the world’s outstanding right-back.
Liverpool are believed to value Williams, who is under contract at Anfield until 2025, at around the £12million mark.
Williams has contributed two goals and two assists in nine Championship appearances for the Cottagers.
He has also scooped two man of the match awards in that time.
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo (16 March), Wales manager Rob Page has praised the right-back for leaving Anfield in search of regular game time.
Page suggested Williams will have a big role to play for his country in this Thursday’s World Cup qualifier against Austria.
Williams was handed just seven minutes of Premier League action by Jurgen Klopp in the 2021-22 campaign prior to joining Fulham on loan.
