Fulham defender Stephen Arthurworrey hopes to follow in the footsteps of Fulham team-mate Dan Burn at Yeovil Town by earning both personal and club success.
The twenty-year-old arrived at Huish Park at the end of last month having agreed a temporary switch until the end of the year. Although just weeks into the spell, Arthurworrey is well-aware of the benefits of an extended stay having spoken to promotion hero Burn before leaving his Sky Bet Championship parent club.
Left-footer Burn shrugged off a shaky debut at Preston North End in the FA Cup that saw him score at both ends to become an integral part of the Glovers' climb to the second tier.
The towering centre half capped his time with Johnson's men by scoring the winner at Wembley in the 2013 League One play-off final and is now an integral part of the Cottagers first team squad after heading out to Birmingham City briefly last season.
Arthurworrey, who gained
Football League experience with Tranmere Rovers in 2013-14, said: "I spoke to Dan a little bit as he was part of the promotion team and played at Wembley.
"He said he had a good experience here. That was pretty much his main loan move. He's done well, he went on to Birmingham and is full time in Fulham's squad. If I can follow similar lines to that and if I can get into the first team at Fulham, that will be great."
On his immediate challenge at Yeovil and potentially staying longer, Arthurworrey added: "With the Championship and League One there's not really much difference.
"Obviously Championship players have a bit better quality but what I need is first team football. At Fulham I was playing more under-21s than anything. There's a big difference between that and first team football.
"I'm grateful that Yeovil and Fulham gave me that opportunity. It was a very easy decision. I saw where Yeovil were in the table and obviously they're struggling now but we can be well clear of the relegation zone by Christmas.
"I really want to get results here and hopefully if the manager wants to here and at Fulham, they can extend it until the end of the season."
