Blackpool v Fulham at Bloomfield Road

Referee: Michael Oliver. Matches 1. R: 0.Y: 5.

Blackpool host Fulham in an historic day for the Seasiders with the club's first home match back in the top-flight.

A revamp meant Bloomfield Road was not ready for the opening day clash against Wigan, but that did not stop the Seasiders registering a dream 4-0 success over the Latics at the DW Stadium.

Ian Holloway's side then crashed back down to earth with the 6-0 hammering at Arsenal last weekend and a weakened team lost 4-3 at MK Dons in the Carling Cup in midweek.

But the first home game means there should be a real feel-good factor on the coast and Holloway will be aiming to pick up at least a point to go into the international break on a high.

However, it will be tough against an unbeaten Cottagers side who are performing well under new boss Mark Hughes.

The Cottagers held Bolton to a goalless stalemate at the Reebok before showing their mettle by coming from behind to seal a last-gasp 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United.

They then registered a 6-0 Carling Cup crushing of Port Vale in midweek to go into this clash full of confidence.

Team news
Holloway rang the changes for the MK Dons defeat, with ten players coming into the starting line-up from the loss at Arsenal.

He will be back up to full strength against the Cottagers, with defender Ian Evatt available again after missing the Carling Cup defeat through suspension.

Striker Luke Varney comes into contention after sealing his loan move from Derby on Friday, but goalkeeper Paul Rachubka remains sidelined after having an operation on his knee, while striker Jason Euell is also out.

For Fulham, Algerian international defender Rafik Halliche comes into contention after joining the Cottagers on a three-year deal earlier this week.

Hughes gave £5million summer signing Moussa Dembele his first start against Port Vale and the Belgian marked the occasion with a well-taken goal to press his claim to start against the Seasiders.

Liverpool transfer target Paul Konchesky could return to the line-up after Hughes gave Academy graduate Matthew Briggs his first start at left-back in the Vale victory.

Fellow transfer target Mark Schwarzer, who is wanted by Arsenal, has failed to start this term and David Stockdale could continue between the posts after impressing so far.

Zoltan Gera came back into the side and bagged a brace against Vale to press his claims for a starting place, but long-term injury victims Philippe Senderos (Achilles), Andrew Johnson (knee) and Diomansy Kamara (foot) remain out.
