Fulham centreback Tim Ream faces a late fitness test as Fulham travel to Liverpool in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final later today,

The veteran centre-back has been absent since mid-December, but Fulham manager Marco Silva has said he may be fit enough to be named in the matchday squad against Liverpool.

Elsewhere, Adama Traore remains unavailable with the hamstring strain that has plagued him since September, while Fode Ballo-Toure, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey are at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“We still have Adama Traore out," Silva said on Monday. “Let’s see the next few weeks how he’s going to react from the first steps outside.

“Tim Ream is involved with the team. He’s working with the team. We’ll have another session tomorrow [Tuesday] to decide what is going to be the squad list.

“I will not say he is ‘ready, ready, ready’ to start the game tomorrow, but let’s see if he can be involved in the squad list. But really the player that is completely out is Adama Traore.”

Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Castagne, Diop, Adarabioyo, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed; Wilson, Cairney, Willian; Jimenez

Liverpool boss Klopp called a spade a spade while elaborating on Van Dijk's illness over the weekend, admitting that the Dutchman looked "s***" as he reported for training last week, but he has been passed fit to start this week.

However, the Reds manager has now lost Trent Alexander-Arnold for the next few weeks due to a knee injury, while none of Dominik Szoboszlai (hamstring), Andrew Robertson (shoulder), Kostas Tsimikas (collarbone), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), Thiago Alcantara (hip), Ben Doak (knee) or Joel Matip (ACL) will be leaving the treatment room just yet either.

Salah and Japan international Wataru Endo will also sit out both legs of the semi-final owing to their continental commitments, and while senior options for change are extremely limited at this moment in time, Conor Bradley, Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota could freshen up the hosts' XI.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Jones, Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Jota, Nunez, Diaz
