Anthony Taylor started refereeing in the Northern Premier League in 2002, progressing to officiate in the Conference North in 2004. He was appointed to the Football League referees' list at the start of the 2006–07 season and was then promoted to the list of Select Group Referees who officiate primarily in the Premier League in 2010 and in 2013 became a listed referee for FIFA allowing him to referee European and international matches

His first Premiership game was the Fulham 1-0 win over Portsmouth in February 2010 the year Fulham played in the Europa League Final.

The most recent time Mr Taylor refed a Fulham game was in May 2024 when we lost 4-0 at home to Manchester City. He booked two players, both from Fulham, Antonee Robinson and Issa Diop. Mr Taylor also gave Issa Diop a second yellow in the 95th minute, for a foul in the box.

Mr Taylor also refed January 2024 when we lost 1-0 away at Chelsea. He booked five Chelsea players and one from Fulham, Harry Wilson for a foul.

His previous visit was in October 2023 when we lost 2-0 away at Tottenham, he booked two players both from the Tottenham team.

In April 2023 Mr Taylor refed Fulham when we won 3-1 away at Everton. He booked five players, two from Fulham, Tosin Adarabioyo for dissent and Bernd Leno time wasting in the 96th miute. Fulham's goal scorers were Harrison Reed, Harry Wilson and Daniel James.

A month before the Everton game Mr Taylor refed us in March 2023 when we lost 3-2 away at Brentford. He booked three players, all from Fulham, Willian, Sasa Lukic and Aleksandar Mitrovic. Manor Solomon and Carlos Vinicius were the Fulham goal scorers.

Six months previously, October 2022, Mr Taylor refed Fulham when we won 3-2 away at Leeds United. He booked one player from each team, Fulham's player was Antonee Robinson for a foul. Aleksandar Mitrovic Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Willian were Fulham's goal scorers.

Mr Taylor's previous link up with Fulham was in February 2021 when we drew 0-0 away at Crystal Palace and Mr Taylor booked one player from each team, the Fulham man was Antonee Robinson.

Prior to the Palace game Mr Taylor refed Fulham in January 2021 when we drew 2-2 away at West Brom. He booked one player who was from the West Brom team and Bobby Decordova-Reid and Ivan Cavaleiro were the Fulham goal scorers.

Mr Tayor also refered a Fulham earlier this season, 2020/2021, in September 2020, when we lost 4-3 away at Brentford. He booked three players two of them were Fulham players Aleksandar Mitrovic (88,d) and Kenny Tete (90,f).

It was some two years previously that Mr Taylor refed Fulham in February 2019, away at Southampton when we lost 2-0. He only booked one player, Kevin McDonald for a foul in the 62nd minute.

Earlier he had refed our 1-2 home defeat by Oldham in the FA Cup in January 2019. He booked five players three of them from Fulham, Kebano (38,f), Odoi (62,d), R Sessegnon (76,f).

Prior to this game he bossed the 1-0 away defeat at Huddersfield on the 5th November 2018 when he booked three players,  two of them from Fulham< Fosu-Mensah (34,f), Mitrovic (76,d).

Prior to that game he refed Fulham in August 2018 when Fulham lost 3-1 to Tottenham at Wembley and there were no cards issued.

Mr Taylor had of course bossed Fulham during the Play Off Final at Wembley in May 2018 when Fulham beat Aston Villa 1-0. As we know he sent Denis Odoi off for two yellow cards given for fouls. Mr Taylor also booked four Villa players and Fulham's Aboubakar Kamara for disent.

The last time Mr Taylor refed Man United was in December 2024 when they won 2-1 away at Manchester City.

Last season, 2023/2024, he refed 50 games and dished out 218 yellows and 9 reds, so an average of 4.4 yellows per game. So far this season he has refed 24 games issued 95 yellows, an average of 4.0 yellows per game, and 2 reds

His busiest Premiership game recently was the Southampton vrs Leicester game when he booked five Southampton players and three Leicester players. Mr Taylor also sent off a Southampton player in the 73rd minute, 10 minutes after coming on.
