Fulham manager Chris Coleman is hoping that new signing Michael Brown can put the bite into his midfield.

Brown was paraded by Fulham prior to the kick-off against his former club Tottenham at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night and Coleman believes he is the man to give the Cottagers some much-needed aggression in the middle of the pitch.

Coleman also revealed they were hoping to take Sean Davis back to Fulham from Spurs but the deal failed to materialise before the player moved to Portsmouth along with White Hart Lane team-mates Pedro Mendes and Noe Pamarot.

Coleman said: "Michael's a player I've looked at for a while. We were interested in Sean Davis also but could not do the deal with Sean and Pompey came in for him.

"It's a great time to sign Michael - he's got that little bit extra and brings something different to us. He does not mind going in where it hurts and we've perhaps not had enough of that in the past.

"We have always been a team that plays football but we are trying to mix it up a bit. I'm delighted we've got him
