He also is slow to deliver the ball with his dithering about. Some may say that's how Silva wants to play out from the back, but sometimes you have to use your brain to assess the situation and just clear it upfield.

The internet encourages that sort of thing, and I’ve done my fair share. But what about ‘standing up to the bullies’? Standing up throughout the game generally really involves only a selfish minority in the first rows, but it then prompts all the rows behind to have to stand as well. There were older people who actually saw nothing of Saturday’s game, since standing for extended periods for them proves to be too uncomfortable. I hunted round the club website (and followed Paddy O’Doors advice), eventually finding a suitable address. FFC promptly kindly replied saying ‘…. I’m sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience at Saturdays match. We appreciate and value your feedback on this matter that you have raised. I have passed your email on to the relevant teams for consideration in possible future changes.’ Now the internet is providing opportunities to ’stand up’ as well, and follow up. I do realise that there are ‘true fans’ who do stand at every game (at the rear of the Hammersmith End; the Putney ‘away’ end), and the club tries to be both realistic and accommodating. But the truth is that the ground regulations and legal obligations are very clear, and the best the club can do is to encourage those in pitch side seats to buy their tickets for another part of the ground. (MST - you are just a season ticket holder? For the work you have to do in keeping a minority of these true fans’ in line, you deserve more.)

Also, apart from maybe the Brighton game, we have been dominant so far this season. We just need to keep picking up points against teams in the bottle half of the table, otherwise, it will be like last season, a season of if only! I don’t think we will finish in the top 4 - we still lack quality in some areas. However, top 6 should definitely be a target. My biggest concern is losing Marco mid season. We have West Ham, Forest (again), Man U, maybe even Newcastle and Villa could be looking for a new manager in the next few weeks/months. But looking good!

On all known form we should have a comfortable win against them, but will we, or will this be the usual Fulhamish result, or are those days now behind us ?

Lol' i was just about to write one about left backs and which one is better of the two? We are truely fortunate to have Robinson and now Sessegnon who is giving us fantastic service. Sess is all we could dream of in a left back. His defending is a whole improvement from the boy who burst on the scene from the Slavisa days. Sessegnon is so much bulkier and stronger now and he seems to have radar tech built into his DNA. Those runs and jaunts upfield is purposeful and productive and just take a look at that delivery again for that own goal, they had to defend it and it was unfortunate for them. We had two lined up to take that ball by the way and i think their defender was aware of it. Robinson is all about raw speed and he does provide assists but i say that Sessegnon is a more all rounder and don't forget Sess will chip in with goals too. Marco has a headache for sure but all good and we will get injuries along the way. How do we keep everyone happy is another problem and the likes of Harry Wilson will not get 90 minute game-time every week. Wilson by the way' is looking to get into the Wales squad and that is one reason why a move away is still on the cards for Wilson, we can't please every one of them...

I hope the tall 18 year old striker we have acquired appears on Tuesday and impresses. Manchester City striker who keeps breaking records was 16 when he joined Man C. So it is class not age that count. The Fulham players all know good King and the best think about yesterdays match, was when he made the mistake that gave Brentford a goal all the players came to comfort him as they know how good he is. King played as was well as he could from that point.

Mr Angry, sometimes you give credit to where credit is due and why not our team Fulham? Yes Brentford are not the strongest this season for obvious reasons but we can argue the same about the likes of Brighton, Palace etc who sell some of their best players season after season. Has it been any different? Soothsayer gave a prediction in favour of a Brentford win away to a Fulham side unchanged with no injuries and no cup game until the coming week and i think it was an easy one to predict in favour of Fulham who i still think are one of the strongest sides in this prem right now. Good on you for picking out Berge as a workhorse and sometimes i miss little details about him but on a bad day he will stick out. We need Robinson back i agree, he is our number one left back but we have a great sub in Sessegnon who has been excellent so far this season and we have no emergency in the left back position. Infact we could say that in the absence of Robinson, Sess has not only stepped up to the plate, he also has provided quality assists in forward areas to make goals and sometimes Robinson falls down in his offensive duties. Sometimes you need to give credit to our team Fulham and our excellent Marco Silva who is our very best manager in our history and he demonstrates the hunger to still continue with Fulham after being appointed in July 2021. Many don't last long these days...

Looking at our opening fixtures, most of us didn't expect too many points, in fact it looked like we would be struggling, but here we are, sitting comfortably in 7th in the table, and if it wasn't for some awful refereeing, and VAR, we would have been unbeaten so far. Although i don't see Badenoch as a serious leader to lead a Conservative comeback. Interestingly a number of Afghans who got a permament residency in the Uk recently have been going back home to Afghanistan for holidays, apparently which makes a mockery of why they wanted away from the Taliban in the first place. The Tories were right to sweep this mess under the carpet in the first place and i question if England is compatible and the right place for a lot of these people who do not and will not fit in to British society. I am not a fan of Trump because he has emboldened Putin and that Ukraine war, he should have enforced sanctions on Russia a long time ago and no other American President has friendled up to the Russians ever. Trump has one quality thing about him that has gone from our society now more than ever and that is the big stick and yes sometimes over the top in some ways but it is necessary in Leaders of a country. We have rules and what a leader says goes and it is a proven and right biblically. Our system has gone too far woke and our society is falling apart and we have lost and are losing everything we adere to now more than ever. The Conservatives are the most fair balanced and more learned in financial affairs and they have proven that over a hundred years. The racist agenda about the Conservatives is cleverly brought into our society by people who are in our system only to gain advantage for their own selves and they have no interest or love for this country. They are in our courts councils etc, they have ruined this country sadly...

Even our 2nd eleven, will frighten the life out of Cambridge. I agree that our full squad is really strong, and our bench must be one of the best in the league. All we have to do, is to score some bloody goals.

Breaking teams down is difficult. Very difficult. Look at Liverpool vs Burnley game. When a team plays low block with two lines of 5 players inside the own third, you need to be amazing quick, accurate and powerful to create something. To be honest, unlikely Burnley, I thought Leeds were relatively open and wasn't just sitting back. Just all the players were well drilled to retracted back to their position very quickly.

The PL wingers when they get the ball try to run forward and get a cross or a forward pass into the box. The Championship wingers usually pass the ball sideways or from whence it came. Our wingers should remember that as Kiven showed you how, the sooner and more you get the ball into the box the more likely you are to score.

DMK, I was going to make a posting on here that was almost word for word, the same as yours, so obviously I totally agree with your comments. I watch a lot of football on the TV, and a lot of them are good for insomniacs, and yesterday's Burnley v Liverpool match, was a real example. Neither team would have scored if they had played till Christmas, but then lucky Liverpool had that stupid penalty. Burnley may avoid the drop, but I can see a lot of 0-0 results coming, as they have hardly anyone who can actually score. Our match with Leeds was pretty boring as well, and I almost felt like going home at HT. I do hope that our game with Brentford will be higher in entertainment value. This game will be no push over for us, although we usually find a way to beat them and at least our squad will have a weeks rest and training together, with hopefully a better outcome.

Our slow passing build up allows the opposition to all get in their players in their prescribed positions. Long throws are back in fashion and is another counter to tight defending.

The last ten minutes of a match is always the best time to bring on impact attackers when the defence is tiring especially ones the opposition have not seen before.

A fully fit and committed Smith Rowe would be a very good player. Like most people I was impressed with Kevin's 15 minutes and look forward to him becoming a regular in the team and see if he can improve our finishing as he can obviously shoot very well. I noticed Marco's comment about him being very young, be obvious dubious about younger players. He have signed a very promising 18 year old striker, get him in the squad and give him a try as our two other strikers do not cut it.

He is not the tallest but he will be very useful when Marco eventually works out who his best attacking options are. I think we have plenty in decent options with the likes of Sessegnon Kevin Rowe Iwobi and Muniz in the mix. I don't always agree with Marco's best starting options and i still think Harry is better coming on as a sub. Daniel Farke say's he knows the quality of Kevin and it is obvious that he and Leeds looked at him but Farke say's they could not afford the 34m we paid for Kevin. Interestingly Chris Sutton and Paul Merson put us down for a win at home to Leeds because we apparently have more quality in our squad and on the bench which is interesting because some Fulham fans still think we don't have a good enough squad. I think Smith Rowe will have one of his best seasons now because he no longer is our most expensive player which will take the pressure off. Some players can handle a big money move better than others and Kevin who is our most expensive looks like he will thrive and love the prem. If you have the skills why not show them off? Kevin will gladly oblige...

Robinson is one of the best players in the division but Tete is playing so well he cannot get back in the team. We should finish high in the table when Marco finds his best team. He has that happy problem that to get very good players into the team he has to leave out very good players. Kevin looked good because he passed well, could beat people with his speed and his dribbling, and has a fearsome and accurate shooting ability. No other player in the squad has that full combinational talent. A final point, Muniz is beginning to look like an attacking midfielder rather the a striker, the old fashioned no 10 who plays behind the goal scorer.

We created better chances than Leeds but not enough, as Marco said we played very defensively. I expected us to go on all out attack as Leeds are not good enough to break away and score. We also forgot a few well placed long balls can sometimes create more than inseissent sideways and back passing. Certain players kept making good forward runs but the ball never came to then, If I could see the run why could the player with the ball not. We perhaps should have played one less defensive midfielder and one more attacking one. Our two defensive midfielders look to pass sideways or back and rarely risk passing forward.

I almost feel ashamed, but I left just before the goal was scored, but I heard the roar while walking away from the ground. The trouble is I was hoping that it was our goal, and not Leeds scoring, although funnily enough they did score for us ! ! I haven't seen the goal yet. Football is a weird game. We have played really well in 3 games, and not won, but we play our worst game of the season and win, even though we didn't score with one of our own players. Personally, I couldn't care a monkeys, as we have been robbed in two out of our 3 games, so today the luck went our way. I have just looked at the l league table, and with this one win we are 10th, and it's lovely to see us clamber out of the bottom 3. We don't ever want to go back there again this season.

Lukic is never the most technical and gifted sort of player to put that ball into the net from Kevin and Muniz in that area and space was needed then. I just think that Leeds settled into a rhythm from the get-go and we couldn't find ours. You are going to get games like this and i think Leeds and manager Farke have learned the hard way about the prem and they have tightened up especially in midfield. Leeds used to play more open but today no space. Berge is sometimes too stiff and i likened him to bar football and sometimes these type of games don't suit him. Anyway 3 points is decent even though it was an own goal. It was coming after we were awaken by Kevin. Smith Rowe was unlucky hitting the post. This guy Kevin should be in from the get go now. Harry wilson blows hot and cold. If he can maintain he’s best consistently, he’d be a £70m player. The problem is his consistency and therefore, he’s not always reliable and as a result, forever a bench player in a good team. We already have Traore doing that and maybe best we don’t have 2 inconsistent players. So as much as I like Wilson, he’s not irreplaceable, especially if he’s getting bored at Fulham.

Not sure Forest have all that. You can't turn a team built on defence and counter, to throwing your kitchen sink at your opposition at every turn. I like Ange but I think he will struggle! I am just happy they didn't come for Silva - so dodged the bullet. Bad chairman and bad decision.

Sometimes fixtures i think fall in good favour to the home team and Leeds played a injury hit and a no striker and rudderless Newcastle and i guess it was the right time to play Newcastle, i put Leeds down for a win but a good draw it was for Leeds. Leeds a very open in spaces at the back and Newcastle if they were switched on they might have nicked that game. I just think that Fulham at home should have too much for Leeds...

But like plays a big part, lots of sides that were to good to go down in past have gone down. You can’t take anything for granted. Since Silva been in charge we’ve always had good starts and faded end of season. Feel were very unlucky to only have to points we’ve bad decisions going against us v Man U andChelsea . My only worry is if we get stuck down there to long confidence goes your in a relegation battle, few injuries players going to African nations our record end of season. What we must improve on from last season is beating the teams in bottom halve at home this season. Marco may have to prove his metal this season he’s been great for us , but his history shows not just with Fulham his teams fade end of season. Let’s start with a good win v Leeds COYW

For example we attack all the game create many good chances that we miss and in the 87th minute Leeds have their first attack and score. We bring on lots of attacking players and (a) score no goals (b) score one goal (c) score two goals. I could produce pages with different possibilities but won't as until the 98th minute and the final whistle has been blown we will not know the result.

Last season was quite exceptional, with 3 very poor teams at the bottom. If my memory serves me right, weren't Palace struggling down there, without a win after 8 games, but look what happened to them. It's still very early days, but the 3 promomoted sides seem to be a stronger set, but I would still fancy Sunderland, and Burnley to drop, with Wolves also involved, but this is football, so who knows. I will make one forecast, Fulham will not be relegated. COYW

We have made a sound start to the season, with three tough matches to start with, and if Jones and VAR, hadn't ruined it, we would have at least had an extra point at Stamford Bridge, which was daylight robbery. The only fly in the ointment, could be, if Marco moved on, but hopefully that is unlikely.
