West Ham United are lining up a summer bid for Alexsandar Mitrovic as the club prepare for a summer revamp of their forward options.

With Andy Carroll’s contract to expire and doubts over the futures of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez, West Ham have made signing at least one new striker a priority.

Mitrovic is among the Hammers’ top targets, following Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League and the 24-year-old is keen to stay in England.

Despite Fulham suffering a terrible season, Mitrovic has netted 10 League goals and has been the club’s one ray of light.

The Cottagers are aware they stand virtually no chance of keeping him in the Championship and will hope to get at least £30million for the former Newcastle United player.

Mitrovic joined Fulham permanently last summer for an initial fee of £22m, potentially rising to £27m, and has not scored since January.

But the Serbia international showed his pedigree in the first half of the season having fired Fulham to the Premier League with 12 goals during a successful loan spell last term.
