Weekend Division 1 scores and comments

last updated Sunday 14th January 2001, 2:00 PM

Fulham Football Club are the top club in the Nationwide league.

The absence of a number of senior players gave Fulham a strange look today particularly with Terry Phelan and KarlHienz Reidle on the bench. Whether it was a reaction to playing Man Utd or something else the slick passing game of the Mighty Whites was missing for large parts of the game at times being replaced by an improved Bracewell style.

The hard work of Jean Tigana earlier in the season meant that even with a relatively lack lustre performance the Super Whites were in a different class to Norwich and Louis Saha was able to return to scoring goals. Another three points in the bag and another step closer to the Premiership

Say ... We are top of Division One after just over half of the campaign, have lost only two game, have the best goal difference and the leading scorer in the Premier and Nationwide leagues.
