Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd is confident ahead of their game against Fulham on Monday, because the game is being played at night.

The Hornets are unbeaten in two night games, with draws against West Ham United and Aston Villa, both results coming at Vicarage Road.

Boothroyd is keen for his players to continue their performances in evening kick-offs when they host The Cottagers on Monday.

"We do seem to play well at night, and we are unbeaten in the dark - so we will have a roof put on Vicarage Road," Boothroyd joked.

"Our form at night means I am looking forward to the Fulham game.

"We should introduce some new training methods and work on the players' circadian rhythms to try to make them think it is night time before every game."

Meanwhile, Boothroyd remains confident that his side will turn around the form that has seen them pick up just three points from their opening six Premiership fixtures.

Watford currently sit in the bottom three but Boothroyd remains optimistic about their prospects for the remainder of the campaign.

"Only six games have been played, and I would still ask people to judge us after 38 games," he said.

"We are in the bottom three now, but it is so early in the season.

"Later in the campaign, people will be asking me different questions, such as whether we can get into Europe.

"If they are, I will just smile and remind everyone of this period - although they will probably then tell me that they still think I'm mad."

Boothroyd is still banking on a confidence-boosting win coming sooner rather than later.

He added: "I feel that the first win is just around the corner. It is only a matter of time, because performances have generally been good.

"A big win would build confidence, but we must make sure we don't lose what's been so good up to now.

"Someone is going to get a good hiding and we might win 3-0 or 4-0 - but I would have preferred three 1-0 wins, because it would have given us more points."
