Fulham are now close to a deal with PSV Eindhoven for striker Ricardo Pepi to join before the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad. The Dutch newspaper reports that the deal between the two sides is now a case of ‘a few ifs and buts’.

According to their information, the two sides are now close to a deal after weeks of negotiating for the 23-year-old

Fulham have been chasing him since last summer. PSV rejected their advances at that point. Fulham then returned for Pepi during the January transfer window.

PSV were initially resistant to a deal, but their change began to soften later in the window.

The deal eventually collapsed, but several reports since have suggested that Fulham and PSV are instead working on a summer move.

Indeed, Sport Witness covered a report on the 25th stating that both sides were in full talks and negotiations.

A report after that explained how the proposed deal was seen as a good one for all parties.

Eindhovens Dagblad now report that PSV and Fulham are close to a deal for the sale of the American in the summer.

It is a case of a ‘few ifs and buts’ before it is completed. One of these is that Pepi still needs to pass a medical after giving a definitive yes to Marco Silva’s side.

Fulham’s offer to PSV is reportedly ‘very attractive’. That’s not just because it’s worth between €35m and €40m.

Rather sources close to Pepi report that there’s also a ‘substantial resale percentage’ included in the deal. That could earn PSV several million more in the future.

That is perhaps why the deal has been described as good for all parties. Fulham get their striker; PSV get a big price and can earn from it in future as well. That would explain why the Dutch side are happy to do business now rather than wait until the summer.
