The links between Fulham and Pablo Maia may have disappeared in recent days, but they are suddenly back in a story from UOL today.
The outlet, who managed to speak to the player during a friendly, now claims he ‘avoided’ speaking of the Whites’ interest in signing him.
Asked about Fulham’s chase, the Sao Paulo midfielder only highlighted his wish of moving to Europe very soon.
“It’s a dream of mine to play in Europe, but family and agents take care of it and I just focus on playing football,” Pablo Maia told UOL.
UOL still claims that Fulham are ‘analysing’ a new bid to be made for Pablo Maia. It’s recalled that the first one was already turned down by São Paulo.
It was nearly a month ago that the Brazilian media started claiming the Whites were attempting to sign the player. At the time, it was said the Premier League side were willing to pay between €6m and €7m for the signing.
The problem is that São Paulo were said to be demanding at least €10m for the transfer, and Fulham are apparently thinking about that.
Back then, it had also been said that Nottingham Forest were fighting for the player, although the competition from the Reds is no longer mentioned now.
