Fulham have reportedly identified Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo as a transfer target amid his struggles to get game time under Arne Slot at Anfield. The 31-year-old is reportedly seeking a move elsewhere with top European clubs keen on his signature.
According to Caught Offside, Fulham are one of several teams that are keen on Endo who has not been shown any reason to believe that he is a big part of Slot’s plans at Liverpool as he has made just five Premier League appearances so far this season, all coming from the bench.
Marco Silva will hope to add more quality to his midfield as his Fulham side have emerged as outside candidates to earn a European football spot this season, as they sit seventh in the Premier League, just one point off third-placed Chelsea.
Last weekend they secured a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace where goals from Emile Smith-Rowe and Harry Wilson helped the Cottagers to three points.
Endo, who could be available for a fee of around £15m, could be keen on a move away due to his lack of game time at Liverpool where he has become somewhat of a squad player since joining from Stuttgart in August 2023.
The Japan international has made 51 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, scoring two goals and one assist.
The Cottagers aren’t the only Premier League side to take an interest in the 31-year-old, with the report suggesting that Wolves and Ipswich are also both keen on his signature as they aim to survive relegation after poor starts to the season.
Furthermore, European giants AC Milan are also said to be willing to make Endo with an offer too good to refuse, with the lure of the chance to win big trophies towards the end of his footballing career.
However, if the midfielder decides that he wants to stay in the UK then he could also opt for Celtic who are keen with the promise of trophies in Scotland and a shot at Champions League football.
If Fulham remain as contenders for Europe however, the 31-year-old could be tempted to Craven Cottage with the promise of more regular game time under Marco Silva.
Endo would be brought in at Fulham to help to shore up the midfield.
