Fulham are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Fred as Erik ten Hag trims his squad.
The Brazil international, who has one year remaining on his contract and won't be offered a renewal, is valued by United at around £20million.
However, that is more than Fulham are prepared to pay, the Daily Telegraph report, and United will likely have to reduce their asking price to conclude a deal.
Fred, 30, is reportedly willing to join Fulham and work under their head coach Marco Silva in the Premier League next season.
United paid £52m to bring Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018 and he signed a five-year contract.
They triggered a one-year extension last December in order to ensure they received some money for him this summer.
Fred made 56 appearances in all for United last season, scoring six goals and assisting with a further six, but only 23 of those were starts.
Ten Hag preferred a combination of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in central midfield.
With United in urgent need of a new striker and another attacking midfielder, funds need to be raised from player sales this summer to stay on the right side of Financial Fair Play rules.
Rumours of potential Fulham interest emerged last month when Fred was spotted chatting to Silva outside Old Trafford following United's 2-1 win over the Cottagers on the final day of the season.
