John Heitinga is close to signing for Fulham on loan.
The Everton defender is out of contract at the end of the season, and has fallen out of favour under Roberto Martinez.
Heitinga could replace Aaron Hughes, who has joined QPR. He was due to join Galatasaray earlier this week and went for talks but Mancini signed Koray Gunter from Dortmund instead.
Rene Meulensteen has been extremely busy in the transfer market since taking over at Craven Cottage, and could add Heitinga for a nominal fee, paying for his wages.
William Kvist arrived on loan from Stuttgart, while a deal to bring Greek striker Konstali Mitrogulu from Olympiacos is nearly complete.
Heitinga was named Everton's player of the year in 2012 but the form of Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka pushed him down the pecking order.
He was also a starter as Netherlands lost out in the World Cup Final to Spain in 2010.
