Tottenham (1) 3-1 (1) Fulham

Tottenham saw off Fulham at White Hart Lane to pile further pressure on the relegation-threatened visitors.

Paulinho opened the scoring ten minutes before the break, although his effort was cancelled out by Steve Sidwell just two minutes later.

Harry Kane caught the visitors napping three minutes after the break to edge the hosts back in front, before Younes Kaboul added a third in the 62nd minute.

Fulham fluffed the chance to fight their way back into the contest when Sidwell saw his penalty from a Christian Eriksen handball easily saved by Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris with quarter of an hour left.

The first-half was a largely dull affair until the game burst into life with two goals in quick succession.

Firstly, Paulinho poked home from close range after a terrific free-kick from Eriksen.

The lead was not to last, however, as seconds later Steven Sidwell pounced on a mistake from rookie defender Zeki Fryers to power the Cottagers level.

It stayed that way until the break, but just three minutes into the second, Kane nodded home an inswinging cross from Aaron Lennon to move the hosts back in front, and bag his third goal in as many games.

Just after the hour mark Kaboul made it three with a carbon-copy replica of Paulinho's opener.

Amazingly that was the 31st goal this season Fulham have conceded from a set piece this season.

In the 75th minute a moment of madness from Eriksen gave the Cottagers a perfect chance to fight their way back into the contest when he needlessly handled in the area.

But Sidwell's penalty was saved by Lloris and Spurs saw out the final 15 minutes to record their third home win on the bounce.
