Hayward blast |

Steve Hayward celebrated the end of his Craven Cottage nightmare with a wonder
strike for his new club and couldn't resist a pop at the runaway first division
leaders.
Hayward said: "The last six months have been the worst time of my career.
"I had gone from being a regular at the club, through cup runs and promotion campaigns,
to being forced to train with the kids.
"I don't have a problem with the manager not picking me. I just wish the club
had shown a little bit more respect and let me go six months earlier.
"They kept telling me I was part of their plans, but then had me training with
the youth team.
"I just feel I've wasted six months of my career."
