Fulham play Sochaux tonight in a friendly to raise money for families
of the 29 people killed and the hundreds injured in the chemical factory
explosion in Toulouse.
The French side, newly promoted from Division 2 just like Fulham, are now
6th in the French 1st Division after winning 6 and drawing 2 of their first
13 games. Sochaux have not won in their last three games, drawing 2 and
losing the other one, so will be looking to return to winning ways by beating
Fulham prior to their league game against Metz.
Both teams have a free weekend due to international fixtures with Fulham's
Edwin van der Sar(Netherlands), Luis Boa Morte(Portugal), Steve Finnan(Eire),
Sean Davis(England U21) and Steed Malbranque(France U21) away on duty.
Jean Tigana is taking a strong squad despite Alain Goma and Lee Clark not
travelling. Bazza Hayles was expected to be in action for Jamaica this week,
but their friendly against Nigeria at QPR was called off so he is included
in the Fulham squad.
The match, which kicks off 7pm French time, should be a good opportunity
for Abdelsam Ouaddou to continue his return from an eye injury and will
also give fringe players like Bjarne Goldbaek, Paul Trollope and Andrejs
Stolcers a chance to prove their worth.
