George last appeared for England in Nov 1967 in a European Nations qualifier against Northern Ireland, under Alf Ramsey, ending his International career with 37 caps. In those 37 games England won 26, drew 8 and lost just 3 games.

Head coach Sven-Goran Eriksson says he will play his strongest side for the first half and then make 11 changes, bringing in the group of youngsters he sees as the future of England.

Sean has been sent a good luck message - from controversial garage combo So Solid Crew.

No-one was more excited about the news than So Solid Crew's MC Harvey - best friend of the Fulham star as the pair grew up together in Battersea.

"Sean is my best mate and I'm so pleased for him," he said. "I just want to congratulate him on getting called up for the full England squad. He deserves it. He's the main man."

Eriksson faces a number of injuries admitting he was '99%' resigned to losing Liverpool's Emile Heskey, who limped out of Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough yesterday with a knee injury. Man U's Paul Scholes also picked up a groin injury during the Manchester derby on Sunday while Liverpools's Steven Gerrard is serving a suspension for violent conduct..

With Leeds' Alan Smith also missing after his recent viral infection, that leaves Southampton striker James Beattie to partner Liverpool's Michael Owen for the first 45 minutes. Everton's Wayne Rooney is set to become the youngest international in England history during the second period when Eriksson is committed to fielding an under-25 side.
