Saha injured and misses FA Cup semi

Manchester United Louis Saha's injury-hit campaign shows no sign of abating after the Manchester United striker was ruled out of the FA Cup semi-final.

The France international has been dogged by injury this season, having been hampered by a knee problem since November.

But he was looking to enjoy a positive finish to the campaign when he was handed his first start in two months against Norwich City last Saturday.

Saha managed just 22 minutes of the lacklustre 2-0 defeat at Carrow Road before he was forced off with a calf problem.

The Red Devils have now confirmed the 26-year-old will require a fortnight on the sidelines, ruling him out of this weekend's semi-final with Newcastle United.

His absence further depletes United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's attacking options, with Ryan Giggs unlikely to feature due to a hamstring complaint.

The injury to Saha will probably prompt Ferguson to recall both Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney for Sunday's tussle at The Millennium Stadium.

The cup tie with Newcastle represents The Red Devils' last chance of silverware this term and Ferguson will be anxious to avoid any further injuries in training this week.
