Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is looking to tie up deals for goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and central defender Brede Hangeland, who have both been in fine form for the Cottagers this season.

The club have been challenging for a place in next season's Europa League, and the experience that both players have brought to Hodgson's side has been key in achieving this.

Hangeland's fine form this season has meant he has become the subject of much interest from bigger clubs, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both reportedly showing an interest, while Schwarzer has just one year remaining on his contract at Craven Cottage.

Hodgson stated that both players had been offered new contracts and is hopeful he can secure the pair to new deals.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hodgson said, "Brede's contract has still got two years to go so there's not panic when it comes to that."

"He has been offered a new deal at the club which I hope he will be happy with and accept.

"Mark will be going into the last year of his contract and that is nothing which either he or we want so I'm hoping that will be quickly resolved.

"It's all very well talking about possible reinforcements and strengthening of your team but this group of players here this year have done a great job for us and it's important for me that we keep that group together."
