Fulham striker Hugo Rodallega is delighted to have been given the opportunity to save Fulham from Premier League relegation.

The Colombia striker followed up his winning goal against Aston Villa with another vital strike in the 1-0 victory against fellow strugglers Norwich on Saturday.

Felix Magath's Cottagers have rocketed to within two points of a position of safety with four games remaining and would move out of the drop zone with victory at Tottenham on Saturday lunchtime.

Having been a fringe figure under both Martin Jol and Rene Meulensteen, Rodallega is now determined to make the most of the opportunity given to him by Magath.

He told reporters: "I feel happy. Not just me, everybody inside. When you win it is very important for the team in this situation.

Fulham manager Felix Magath has hailed his side's spirit as they beat Norwich 1-0. "The goal against Norwich could be very important because I want Fulham to stay up.

"This is my opportunity. I have waited for a long time to play and now I am happy. I am going to enjoy every moment.

"I am happy because when I have these opportunities I want to score, always.

"The manager told me during the second half at Villa last week, 'You're coming on.' And I felt, 'Oh my goodness, this is my chance. I've got to score!'

"And I did, to get three very important points. Now I have done the same and I have to say thank-you to the fans because their support is amazing and it's important for us."

Rodallega is at a loss as to why he was rarely used by Jol, but insists he does not have a problem with the Dutchman.

He added: "I don't know what happened. I never had a problem with him. I never spoke with him. He just left me out. I don't know why."
