Referee Tony Harrington began refereeing in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance at the age of 14 years old, having completed the basic referee course whilst at school as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award.
After 4 years as an EFL Assistant Referee and 4 years as a National League Referee Tony was appointed to the EFL referee list in 2012/13 and has now refereed over 100 EFL matches. He is now part of the elite Select Group 2 of full-time referees to officiate at Championship matches.
In June 2021 he was promoted to the Select Group 1
The last time Ref Harrington refed a Fulham game was in February 2022 when we lost 2-1 at home to Huddersfield . He booked three players including Aleksandar Mitrovic and Fabio Carvalho, both for fouls. Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored Fulham's goal.
He also refed Fulham just a monthe earlier in January 2022 when Fulham beat Reading 7-0 . He booked one player, a Reading player.
Mr Harrington's previous visit was some two years prior to the Reading game in June 2020 when we lost 3-0 away at Leeds . Mr Harrington booked two Leeds players and three Fulham players, Anthony Knockaert for dissent while Neeskens Kebano and Ivan Cavaleiro were booked for fouls, Kebano was then booked a second time in the 91st minute and therefore red carded.
Prior to the Leeds game Mr Harrington refed Fulham in the 1-0 away win at Blackburn Rovers in February 2020. Mr Warrington only booked one player, Bobby De Cordova-Reid (f) of Fulham. Aleksandar Mitrovic was Fulham's goal scorer.
Prior to the Blackburn game Ref Harrington last refed a Fulham game in February 2018 in our promotion year when we beat Aston Villa 2-0 at the Cottage. He booked one player from each side the Fulham player was Stefan Johansen for a foul in the 67th minute. Ryan Sessegnon and Floyd Ayite were the goal scorers.
He also refed the
1-0 home win against Birmingham in the December. He booked two players one from each side, the Fulham player booked was Oliver Norwood.
He started the season with Fulham earlier in September 2017 when we drew 1-1 at home to Cardiff and seven players were booked, four from Fulham, Mollo (29,arg), McDonald (70,f), Johansen (71,f) and Button (82,tw)
Mr Harrington last refed Wolves iun January of this year, 2024, when they drew 1-1 away at Brentford. He yellowcarded three Brentford players, two Wolves players and sent off a Wolves player in the 9th minute.
Last season, 2022/23, he refed 11 games and dished out 39 yellows and no reds, so an average of 3.5 yellows per game.
His busiest games in recent times were three games of 5 yellows and a red and two games of 7 yellows.
