In 2010 he joined the National List of referees in the Football League. Madley was one of the youngest officials to progress to the top-flight of English football when taking up a full-time PGMOL role in the 2013/2014 season.

The last time Referee Robert Madley bossed a Fulham game was a year ago in September 2024 when we lost on pens away to Preston in the Third Round of the League Cup. He only booked one player, Issa Diop and Reiss Nelson was Fulham's goal scorer.

on the 2nd of December 2017 when we lost 3-1 away at brentford. Neeskens Kebano scored our only goal. Mr Madley was a bit busier booking four Fulham players, all for fouls, and one brentford player. He then went on to help us further by sending off Denis Odoi in the 53rd minute for a second yellow.

Nearly a year earlier Mr Madley refed us in February 2017 in the FA Cup 3-0 home defeat against Tottenham. Madley kept his cards in his pocket.

Prior to the Tottenham game referee Robert Madley last bossed a Fulham game on the 5th November 2014 in the 2-2 home draw with Blackpool. He booked two Fulham players, Christensen and Parker for fouls, he also booked three Blackpool players with another one being sent off in the 41st minute.

Wycombe Wanderers last had the pleasure of being bossed by Ref Madley November 2024 when they won 1-0 away at Wigan in League One.

Last season he refed 26 games and dished out 102 yellows and 2 reds, an above average rate of just about 3.9 yellows per game

His busiest game recently was the League Cup game between Swansea vrs Nottm Forest last month when he booked six players, four from Swansea and two from Nottingham Forest.
