Andre Marriner began refereeing in 1992, by chance when he was asked to cover for a referee who did not turn up for a local match, and he progressed via the Birmingham Amateur Football League and the Southern Football League to become a Football League assistant referee in 2000.
Mr Marriner was a Football League assistant referee for three years before being promoted to the position of referee in 2003. He was promoted to the Select Group of professional referees in 2005 and In December 2008 it was announced that Marriner, at the age of 37 would be invited to join FIFA's list of international referees for 2009
The last time Mr Marriner refed a Fulham game was in October 2018 when Fulham lost 3-0 at home to Bournemouth. He booked four players, three from Fulham with a second yellow for Mcdonald.
Prior to this Mr Marriner refed Fulham in the 3-0 away win at Millwall in April 2018. He booked four Millwall players and Tim Ream for a foul in 71st minute.
He last refed Wolves in November 2018 when they lost 2-1 away at Cardiff. He yellow carded three players, two from Wolves.
Last season he refed 35 games and dished out 97 yellows and 5 reds, so a below average 2.8 yellows per game. This season so far in 16 games he has given out 48 yellows and 2 reds. So not much of a change.
His busiest game in last season or so was Braga v Hoffenheim in the Europa League when he yellow carded 10 players one of which was then given a second yellow/red in the 90th minute. In English football he has has two 6 yellow card games so far this season, Wolves v Burnley and Man Utd v Arsenal.
