Referee Lewis Smith moved up to the National League five seasons ago in 2019/2020 and is now in his second full season as an EFL referee having been promoted in the summer, he did have some experience of refereeing in the Championship, League One and League Two.

Mr Smith has refed two Fulham game before the game at Ipswich Town. The most recent was our home 2-1 defeat by Aston Villa in February 1924. He booked five Fulham players and two Villa players.

The first time Mr Smith refed a Fulham game was the League Cup game, in November 2023, away at Ipswich which we won 3-1.

The last time Mr Smith refed an Ipswich Town game was the Leageue cup game with Fulham in November 2023.

Last season, 23/24, he refed 44 games and dished out 168 yellows and six reds, so an average of 3.8 yellows per game

His busiest game in recent times was the Fulham vrs Aston Villa game when he booked five Fulham players and two Villa players
