Referee Lee Probert began refereeing in 1986, in leagues local to Bristol and later in the Football Conference South.

He was promoted to the assistant referees' list for the Football League in 1998, and made the step up to full referee five years later. He has been part of the Select Group of referees since 2007, after a successful 11-year career as an official in the Football League.

Mr Probert missed the whole of the 2015/16 season due to injury and returned to the Premier League in April 2017. He remained a member of the Select Group of referees.

Mr Probert last refed Fulham in January 2019 when Fulham beat Brighton 4-2 at The Cottage despite being 2-0 down at halftime. Seri and Babel were both booked, for fouls, as were three Brighton players.

Prior to the Brighton game Mr Probert refed Fulham in the 4-1 away defeat at Man Utd, in December 2018 and he booked Seri and then he booked Anguissa twice, sending him off in the 68th minute.

In September 2018 Mr Probert bossed the 2-2 draw away at Brighton . He booked six players, three from each team, the Fulham players booked were Johansen (82,not retreating), Mitrovic (84,handball), Le Marchand (90+4,foul).

Everton were last refed by Mr Probert in their 1-0 away defeat at Watford in February 2019.

Last season he refed 29 games and dished out 57 yellows, a very low average of just under two yellows per game, and 5 reds. This season so far he has bossed 26 games dishing out 80 yellows, so an increased average of 3.1 cards a game, and 8 reds

His busiest game in recent time was the League One game between Sunderland and Luton when he booked six players and dished out two stright reds.
