Referee Jeremy Simpson, 41 years old, made his senior debut as a referee in the 2008/09 season, taking charge of what was then a Blue Square Premier fixture between York and Stevenage.
In recent seasons , he has mainly been chosen to referee games in the third and fourth tier of English football.
This season sees the introduction of Select Group 2 – a group of officials who will operate on the Football League Championship
and Jeremy Simpson has been given a full time contract in this group.
Mr Simpson last reffed a Fulham game at the beginning of this season when we drew 2-2 at home to Cardiff. He booked Madl for a foul and three visiting players.f
Prior to the above game he last bossed a Fulham game
last season in April 2016 when we beat Cardiff City 2-1 at The Cottage in the Championship and he booked Ryan Fredericks.
Derby last had the pleasure of Mr Simpson's company back in August 2016 when he
refed their 0-0 home draw against Brighton. He booked two players on each
side.
Last season he refed 35 games and dished out 115 yellows, an average 3.2 yellows per game, and an above average 5 reds.
This season so far he has refed 34 games and dished out 145 yellows, an above
average 4.3 yellows per game and 5 reds.
Mr Simpson's busiest game this season was Reading's 2-1 home win over Ipswich,
in September, when he booked five home players and four visiting players. All
three goals came from penalties!!
