Referee David Coote started refereeing as a sixteen year-old. He refereed in the Notts Alliance League, the Northern Counties East Football League, the Northern Premier League and the Conference North before being promoted to the Football League. A talented cricketer David played cricket for Notts at various youth age groups, before committing to his refereeing career.
He was promoted to the list of Football League referees in 2010 and to the Select Group 2 of Football Referees employed on a full time basis in the summer of 2016.
The last time Mr Coote reffed a Fulham game was the 2-1 League Cup home win against Middlebrough in August of this year. He booked three Fulham players, Stearman, again, Adeniran and Kavanagh,
all for fouls, he also booked one Boro player also for a foul.
Referee Coote also reffed Fulham once last season, the 2-2 home draw against Brentford in which he yellow carded four players, two from each side. Fredericks was booked for a foul and Stearman got booked for arguing with Brentford's Canos!!
In 2014/2015 season, when he first reffed a Fulham game, he reffed three Fulham
games, all away games, two defeats and a draw. So far when he has been in charge we
have gained one win, two draws and two defeats.
Huddersfield were last reffed by Mr Coote in May 2014 when they beat Watford 4-1 at Vicarage
Road when he booked three Watford players and two Huddersfield players
Last season he reffed 30 games, dished out 111 yellows and 5 reds,so a slightly above average 3.7 yellows per game. So far this season he has bossed 12 games dishing out 38 yellows and 1 red.
