Referee Darren England, 35 year-old, has been running the line in the Premier League for several seasons after working his way up from amateur football in Barnsley. He commenced refereeing in the Conference League in March 2014 and moved up into the Football League in August 2015.

He refed his first Championship game in March 2017. He joined the Select Group 2 of full-time referees in the summer. In August 2022 the PGMOL announced that England had been added to the 2022 Select Group 1 and FIFA List of International Match Officials.[

The last time Mr England refed a Fulham game was in December 2020 when we drew 0-0 at home to Southampton in the Premiership. He booked two players both from Fulham, Franck Zambo and Bobby De-Cordova-Reid, both for fouls.

Mr England previously refed Fulham earlier in the 20/21 season in October 2020 when we lost 1-0 away at Wolves. He booked one player from each team, the Fulham man was Maxime Le Marchand for a foul in the 79th minute.

Prior to the Wolves game Mr England had only refed Fulham once before and that was in October 2017 when we drew 2-2 at home with Preston. The Ref booked five players only one from Fulham, Tom Cairney for a foul.

He last refed Newcastle in May of last season, 21/22, in their 2-0 home win against Arsenal and he yellow carded three players all Arsenal players.

Last season he refed 21 games and issued 85 yellows, an average of 4.0 cards a game, and 1 red.

His busiest game recently was Blackburn v Middlesbrough, in Jan uary 2022 when he booked four Blackburn players and six Middlesbrough players.
