Referee Peter Bankes, who began refereeing in Liverpool in 1996, aged 14. is 34 year old and this season was appointed as a full time Select Group 2 referee after becoming a National Group referee in 2014.
Ref Banks has bossed just one Fulham game before his Saturday appointment and that was the 0-0 away draw at Middlesbrough in October 2015. He booked five players for fouls, two from Fulham he also booke Fulham defender Luke Garbutt, who was on loan from Everton, for time wasting
He reffed a Bristol City game back in September 2015 when City drew 2-2 away at Ipswich. Ref Bankes yellow carded 3 players all City players
Last season he refed 38 games and dished out 153 yellows and 5
reds, so an above average 4.0 yellows per game.
