Referee Peter Bankes, who began refereeing in Liverpool in 1996, aged 14. was appointed as a full time Select Group 2 referee in 2016 after becoming a National Group referee in 2014.
Friday's game against Sunderland will be Ref Peter Bankes' fourth Fulham game this season.
He has refed three Fulham games this season, the most recent, the 2-0 home win against Leeds in early April booking three Fulham players, Bettinelli (68,tw), McDonald (69,f), Johansen (78,f), and two Leeds players, one for dissent and the other for a foul.
In February he refed the 2-0 home win against Wolves when he booked Matt Targett and two Wolves players.
In September he refed the 2-1 away win at QPR when he booked thre players from each team, the Fulham players were Norwood (63,f), Fredericks (64,d), Button (87,tw).
He has reffed Sunderland twice this season, so far, a 2-1 home defeat by Cardiff and a 3-0 away defeat by Sheffield United.
Last season he refed 38 games and dished out 127 yellows and 12 reds, so an average 3.4 yellows per game and a joint top tally of 12 reds.
So far this season he has dished out 144 yellows and 8 reds in 40 games, so an average of 3.6 yellows a game and a joint second highest number of reds
Mr Bankes has calmed down this season with his highest tally being the seven yellows in the Ipswich 2-0 win over Reading in December. Last season he had two games when he issued ten cards, one of eight cards and two of seven cards!!
