Andre Marriner began refereeing in 1992, by chance when he was asked to cover for a referee who did not turn up for a local match, and he progressed via the Birmingham Amateur Football League and the Southern Football League to become a Football League assistant referee in 2000.

Mr Marriner was a Football League assistant referee for three years before being promoted to the position of referee in 2003. He was promoted to the Select Group of professional referees in 2005 and In December 2008 it was announced that Marriner, at the age of 37 would be invited to join FIFA's list of international referees for 2009

The last time Mr Marriner refed a Fulham game was in the 3-0 away win at Millwall in April last season. He booked four Millwall players and Tim Ream for a foul in 71st minute. The last time he refed us in the Premiership, in the 2013/2014 season, he bossed us in four Premiership games and we lost them all.

He last refed Bournemouth in December 2017 when they lost 4-0 away at Liverpool. He yellow carded one player from each team.

Last season he refed 35 games and dished out 97 yellows and 5 reds, so a slightly above average 2.8 yellows per game.

His busiest game last season was Braga v Hoffenheim in the Europa League when he yellow carded 10 players one of which was then given a second yellow/red in the 90th minute.
