Fulham Coach Claudio Ranieri believes Fulham deserved more from their trip to Turf Moor, and insisted his side will keep fighting for their Premier League survival.

The Whites had the better of the play and chances, but zero luck as two quickfire own goals earned Burnley a come from behind win after André Schürrle had emphatically smashed his team in front.

Asked if he thought Fulham should have taken at least a point from the match, Ranieri replied: “Good question.

“We scored very, very early, a great goal. And suddenly, they scored twice with two own goals. This period is very strange.

“We played well, we deserved minimum a draw. But that’s football. I’m satisfied with the performance, not the result.

“Second half we played much better. We moved the ball quickly, found good solutions on the flanks for crosses, but we shot at goal only twice or three times, and one time they saved on the line.

“I think that episode changed the music.”

When it was put to him that his side were beaten by a Burnley outfit that failed to muster a shot on target throughout the 90 minutes, Ranieri said: “I know but what can we do? They shoot at goal. They didn’t find the goal but touched my players, and that’s it.

“There are good moments and bad moments. For us this is a bad moment but we never give up. We continue to believe that in the end we will be safe.”
