Queens Park Rangers sit in 10th place in the Sky Bet Championship table, defying pre-season expectations that the Hoops would fighting relegation once again.

The side from W12 come off the back of a 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough at Loftus Road in their last game prior to the international break, which took their winless league run to four matches.

However, The R’s go into the clash with Fulham just two points below their West London neighbours, who sit in 7th place.

QPR will be looking to get the victory at Craven Cottage so they can leapfrog Fulham in the table.

The QPR manager has made it clear that everyone associated with the club needs to remain level headed despite recent results.

There’s no lack of ambition or desire but the frustrating thing for me is that one minute you’re the pundits’ favourite for relegation and now it’s ‘why are you not in the play-off places?’

“We’ve got to keep expectations very, very positive, very real and I hope very much the supporters can see how much hard work is being done by the players,” he said.

Warburton added that regardless of recent disappointments, he is still proud of his side.

“I’m very proud of what they’ve done so far. We’ve had a good start, we’ve dropped some silly points but we’re right in the mix.”

It is wise of Warburton to try and get everyone singing from the same hymn sheet ahead of what is a very important game for both sides in their respective seasons.

The manager and the players will desperate to put an end to their recent slump.

With Aleksandar Mitrovic unavailable for the hosts, QPR will want to try to keep their first clean sheet of the season.
