Fulham, seemingly wishing they were elsewhere, went to Highbury on Saturday and got wacked 4-1 by a side far keener to win.

An uncritical view of yesterday's game between Fulham and Arsenal may be that the Cottagers were given a lesson in modern football by an Arsenal team playing far better than normal. That in Henry the Fulham defence met an unstoppable striker that could get to the ball first and could always get on the defenders wrong side. That the Arsenal squad was man for man quicker to the ball and better passers of the ball than their Fulham counter parts. That Arsenal defenders, with the exception of Sol Campbell, were unbeatable by any striker.

Some of the above may be true but if Middlesbrough can go to Highbury and get beaten by the odd goal, that Blackburn, Bolton and Southampton can go there and get a draw and Charlton can go there and beat Arsenal 4-2 then could the Fulham squad have been expected to do better than losing 4-1? To say that we are poor travellers is an understatement at the moment

Other games of interest
We remain in 9th spot at the end of the weekend as we lost and Charlton were unable to win at Leeds. Next week end could be fun as West Ham and Charlton are just one point behind us. We play Liverpool at Craven Cottage, West Ham are away at Aston Villa and Charlton are at home to chelsea.
