Referee Peter Bankes |
Referee Peter Bankes, who began refereeing in Liverpool in 1996, aged 14. is 36 year old and in 2016 was appointed as a full time Select Group 2 referee after becoming a National Group referee in 2014.
Friday's game will be Ref Peter Bankes' first Fulham game this season.
Last season he bossed one Fulham game, the 4-0 home defeat by Bristol City, in which he yellow carded two players on each side, Sigurdsson and Parker for fouls. Ref Banks also sent off McDonald for a serious foul, a studs-first challenge, in the 79th minute, three of the City goals had been scored by then so the sending off had little bearing on the final result.
In 2015/2016 Ref Bankes again bossed just one Fulham game and that was the 0-0 away draw at Middlesbrough in October 2015. He booked six players for fouls, three from Fulham, two for fouls and Luke Garbutt for time wasting, Garbutt was on loan from Everton.
He reffed QPR three times last season, two home defeats and an away defeat. Ref Bankes yellow carded 6 players in the three games, four from QPR.
Last season he refed 38 games and dished out 127 yellows and 12 reds, so an average 3.4 yellows per game and a joint top tally of 12 reds. This season so far he has dished out 43 yellows and 3 reds in 12 games
