Bazza Hayles
on the come back trail
|
|
Fulham striker Barry
Hayles may return to the first-team squad for the visit of
Nottingham Forest to Craven Cottage.
The former Bristol Rovers star has been
kept out recently by an ankle injury but made his comeback for the Cottagers'
reserves in a 6-0 win over Wycombe.
New signing, Denmark international Peter
Moller, scored a hat-trick in the match and may get the
chance to cut down Forest. Manager Jean Tigana will hope to be able to
call on Portuguese striker Luis
Boa Morte.
Boa Morte, on loan from Southampton, has
scored 16 goals this season in helping Fulham to the brink of the Premiership,
but has been the subject of speculation linking him with a move to Portuguese
giants Benfica.
Nottingham Forest are without David Prutton,
who begins a two-match suspension that will also see him miss Wednesday's
game against Sheffield Wednesday.
The 19-year-old has so far had a stop-start
beginning to 2001 after previously missing games through illness and a
ban incurred for his sending off against Crewe on Boxing Day.
He is now on the sidelines again after
receiving 10 cautions.
Gareth Williams, who was relegated to
the bench for the 2-1 win over Blackburn, could return in his place.
Boss David Platt will also decide whether
to continue with Gary Jones up front alongside David Johnson, or replace
him with Marlon Harewood, who came on as a substitute against Rovers.
Platt has also been boosted by the news
that injured duo Jack Lester and Chris Doig are both close to regaining
full fitness.
