The Cottagers may have to change their long-term transfer policy after two potential targets were taken off the market this week.
Teddy Sheringham, who has been a Fulham target for almost two years, has been offered a one-year extension to his deal at Manchester United. Another target - Liverpool full-back Djimi Traore - has just been handed a long-term contract at Anfield.
Both men were in Jean Tigana's mind as possible Premiership buys next season and now he must look elsewhere.
