Referee Thomas Kirk |
Referee Thomas Kirk, who has been refereeing for 16 years, has risen through the traditional pathway since he started officiating at the age of 17.
He has now been given an opportunity to operate in the top flight as Professional Game Match Officials (PGMO) continues to identify and develop talented referees.
Promoted to the EFL ahead of the 2022/23 season, Kirk made his Championship debut in 2023, with further appointments coming in the 2024/25 season.
Ahead of this 2025/26 season, Kirk was named on PGMO's newly created supplementary list of match officials for the Select Group, serving both the EFL and Premier League.
Mr Kirk has not refed a Fulham game before.
Wolves have had the pleasure of Mr Kirk's company twice before, both times in the current season. The last time was at the end of February when they lost 1-0 away at Crystal Palace.
Last season, 2024/2025, Mr Kirk issued 170 yellows, so an average of 5 cards a game, and 4 reds. So far this season he has dished out 146 yellows, an average of 4.3 per game, and 4 reds.
Mr Kirk's busiest game in recent time was the Crystal Palace/Wolves game mentioned above when he booked seven players and red carded (second yellow) one player from the Wolves team.
