Fulham Football Club has been informed by the planning department at the London
Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, that at 7pm on Tuesday 27 February 2001 the
Club’s application for its new 30,000 all seater Stadium, will be heard by the
planning committee in the Assembly Rooms of Hammersmith Town Hall.
Following submission of proposals for the development together with a comprehensive
Environmental Statement in March 2000, a consultation period has taken place during
which time the Club consulted with statutory bodies and interested groups and
submitted further clarification documents to the London Borough of Hammersmith
and Fulham.
The Club’s Managing Director, Michael Fiddy, commented:
“The Club is delighted that a date has been announced for the formal planning
hearing of its proposals. Since the application submission in March, the Club
has given very careful consideration to all issues raised and has worked tirelessly
to clarify all matters that have arisen. We are confident that all information
presented to the Council provides justification of the need for the approval of
the application and are looking forward to receiving a favourable decision on
February 27th. With the progress that the club has made and the regulations in
place Fulham urgently requires a positive outcome from the planning process.”
