Referee Darren England, 37 year-old,was running the line in the Premier League for several seasons after working his way up from amateur football in Barnsley. He commenced refereeing in the Conference League in March 2014 and moved up into the Football League in August 2015.

He refed his first Championship game in March 2017. He joined the Select Group 2 of full-time referees in the summer. In August 2020 the PGMOL announced that England had been added to the 2020 Select Group 1 and in December 2022 he was added to the FIFA List of International Match Officials.

The last time Mr England refed a Fulham game was in February last season, 2022/23, when we beat Brighton 1-0 away at the Amex. on the day he booked five players, all from Fulham, Issa Diop, Carlos Vinjicius, Antone Robinson, Joao Palhinha and Willian. Manor Solomon scored Fulham's goal in the 88th minute.

Mr England's previous meeting with Fulham was in November 2022 when he gave a controversial late penalty to Man City to make the score 2-1 to City. He yellow carded six players, four from Fulham, and sent off Cancelo in the 26th minute for a last man foul. Andreas Pereira was Fulham's goal scorer.

A month earlier in October 2022 Mr England was the Ref when we lost 4-1 at home to Newcastle. He sent off Fulham's Nathaniel Chalobah in the 6th minute for a bad foul and yellow carded Aleksandar Mitrovic for arguing and Harrison Reed for a foul. Bobbie De Cordova-Reid scored our only goal in the 88th minute.

Nearly two years previously, in December 2020, he refed Fulham when we drew 0-0 at home to Southampton in the Premiership. He booked two players both from Fulham, Franck Zambo and Bobby De-Cordova-Reid, both for fouls.

Mr England previously refed Fulham earlier in the 20/21 season in October 2020 when we lost 1-0 away at Wolves. He booked one player from each team, the Fulham man was Maxime Le Marchand for a foul in the 79th minute.

Prior to the Wolves game Mr England had only refed Fulham once before and that was in October 2017 when we drew 2-2 at home with Preston. The Ref booked five players only one from Fulham, Tom Cairney for a foul.

He last refed Bournemouth about two weeks ago on 25th January 2024 when they won 5-0 at home to Swansea in the FA Cup. He booked four Swansea players and two Bournemouth players

Last season he refed 31 games and issued 114 yellows, an average of 3.7 cards a game, and 3 red. So far this season he has refed 19 games dishing out 104 yellows, an average of 5.5 cards a game, and 3 red cards

His busiest game recently was Coventry vrs Leicester in mid January 2024 when he booked five Coventry players and three Leicester players rounding everything off with a red card for a Leicester player.
