Maik Taylor was outstanding in goal for Northern Ireland last night but
could not prevent them losing 3-1 to the Czech Republic.
Taylor won praise from Irish boss Sammy McIlroy for his display as he did
everything in his power to keep the Czechs at bay.
He made a series of outstanding saves to keep the scores level at 1-1 and
it was only in the dying minutes that he was beaten for the second time.
Taylor said: "I thought I played well and I was pleased with my own
performance, but that doesn't mean much when you lose.
"The lads are gutted to come away with nothing because they put so
much into the match.
"I don't think you could have asked for more from them and to hold
a world class team for so long and then come away with nothing is very disappointing.
It's hard to take."
