SAMMY McILROY, the Northern Ireland manager, yesterday named his squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and the Czech Republic and once again it included Fulham's Maik Taylor as one of the two goalkeepers.

The Northern Ireland manager has not selected Maik, in a competitive game, since his appointment in February of last year just after Northern Ireland got thrashed 4-1 away in Fiinland trying to qualify for Euro 2000.

Maik will be hoping that he will at last get a promotion from being Northern Ireland's friendly keeper.
