Fulham's Maik Taylor is one of only four full internationals in Sammy McIlroy's
17-strong squad for Northern Ireland's friendly against third division Macclesfield
on the 12 November.
Maik, fast becoming first choice keeper for N.I., will be looking forward to another
outing for his country following his Man of the Match performance against Malta
in October.
West Ham United midfielder Grant McCann, who won his first cap against Malta last
month, along with Stephen Robinson and James Quinn, are the only other players
with senior experience in a panel largely comprised of Under-21 internationals.
There was a surprise call up for 25 year-old Crewe Alexandra winger Steve Jones,
who only joined the first division outfit from Conference side Leigh RMI in the
summer.Jones, who was the second highest scorer in the Conference last season
with 19 goals, is a former Northern Ireland youth international who drifted into
the ranks of non-league football after being released by Blackpool in 1999.
