Referee David Coote started refereeing as a sixteen year-old. He refereed in the Notts Alliance League, the Northern Counties East Football League, the Northern Premier League and the Conference North before being promoted to the Football League. A talented cricketer David played cricket for Notts at various youth age groups, before committing to his refereeing career.
He was promoted to the list of Football League referees in 2010 and to the Select Group 2 of Football Referees, employed on a full time basis, in the summer of 2016.
This game is the first time this season that Mr Coote has bossed a Fulham game, however he is well know to Fulham over the previous three seasons.
In the 2014/2015 season, when he first refed a Fulham game, he refed three Fulham games, all away games, two defeats and a draw.
In 2015/2016 he reffed Fulham once in a draw and in 2016/2017 he refed Fulham four times, all victories.
In total so far he has been in charge of four wins, two draws and two defeats.
Wolves were refed three times last season by Mr Cootes in two draws and one defeat.
Last season he reffed 39 games, dished out 127 yellows, so an average 3.3 yellows per game and an above average 7 reds.
So far this season he has bossed 7 games dishing out 25 yellows and no reds, so a slightly above average 3.6 yellows per game.
