Sunderland born Jonathan Moss was a keen footballer and played junior football at academy level, for Sunderland and then for Millwall. He began refereeing while at school and in 1999 he switched from playing football to being a referee in the Northern Counties East League and Northern Premier League, Moss was promoted to the National Group of assistant referees in 2003.

He was then promoted to the National Group of Referees who officiate in the Football League and was then promoted to the list of Select Group Referees, who officiate all Premier League matches at the start of the 2011–12 season.

The last time Mr Moss bossed a Fulham game was in April 2021 when we lost 1-0 at home to Wolves. He had a quiet afternoon keeping his cards in his pockets.

Mr Moss also bossed a Fulham game in February 2021 when we drew 1-1 away at Burnley in the Premiership. He booked a player from each team, the Fulham man was Ruben Loftus-Cheek who was booked for a foul.

In December 2020 Mr Moss bossed Fulham when we lost 2-0 away at Manchester city. Mr Moss had a quiet evening and kept his cards in his pocket.

Earlier in the season 2020/2021, in October 2020, Mr Moss refed Fulham when we lost 3-0 away to Brentford in the League Cup. He booked three players, two from Fulham, Aboubakar Kamara in the 12th minute for a foul and Stefan Johansen in the 49th minute also for a foul

Ref Moss also bossed Fulham back in the 2018/2019 season in May 2019 when we lost 1-0 away at Wolves. He booked four players three of them Fulham players, Calum Chambers, Maxime Le Marchand and Cyrus Christie all for fouls.

Prior to the Wolves game Mr Moss last met up with Fulham in March 2014 when we were beaten 5-0 at Etihad Stadium by Man City. Mr Moss booked four players, all from Fulham, gave two penalties and sent off Fulham's Fernando Amorebieta in the 53rd minute, for a foul in the area, when the score stood at 1-0.

Mr Moss last refed Bristol City back in January 2016 in an FA Cup game against West Brom, they lost 1-0

Last season Mr Moss refed 32 games and dished out 82 yellows and 2 reds, so a below average 2.6 yellows per game.

Mr Moss's busiest game recently was the Man City 1-0 home victory against Wolves in December 2021 when he yellow carded three players from each team and second yellowed one of the Wolves player.
