Sunderland born Jonathan Moss was a keen footballer and played junior football at academy level, for Sunderland and then for Millwall. He began refereeing while at school and in 1999 he switched from playing football to being a referee in the Northern Counties East League and Northern Premier League, Moss was promoted to the National Group of assistant referees in 2003.

He was then promoted to the National Group of Referees who officiate in the Football League and was then promoted to the list of Select Group Referees, who officiate all Premier League matches at the start of the 2011–12 season.

The last time Ref Moss bossed a Fulham game was back in May 2019 when we lost 1-0 away at Wolves. He booked four players three of them Fulham players, Calum Chambers, Maxime Le Marchand and Cyrus Christie all for fouls.

Prior to the Wolves game Mr Moss last met up with Fulham in March 2014 when we were beaten 5-0 by at Etihad Stadium by Man City. Mr Moss booked four players, all from Fulham, gave two penalties and sent off Fulham's Fernando Amorebieta in the 53rd minute, for a foul in the area, when the score stood at 1-0.

Mr Moss last refed Brentford when they drew 2-2 away at Aston Villa in August 2018 when he booked five players including Watkins and Benrahma of Brentford.

Last season Mr Moss refed 32 games and dished out 102 yellows and 3 reds, so an average 3.2 yellows per game.

Mr Moss's busiest game recently was the Tottenham away draw at Burnley in March 2020 when he yellow carded nine players, five of them from Burnley.
