AGF Aarhus finally announced what has been a public secret for some time.

The Åarhus Superliga club has signed Icelander Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson, who last season played well for Vendsyssel FF on loan from Fulham.

"There were others interested, but I found it most interesting to come here.

I decided early in the season last year that I didn't want to stay in Vendsyssel, said Thorsteinsson speaking to Fotbolti.net.

I like the Danish league. It took a little time to adapt and I believe I can do better here and improve even more.

First of all, I have to find my feet in the squad, and when I get the chance, I will do my best for the team.

AGF is a big club in Denmark with great ambitions.

Recent years have been disappointing, but Aarhus is Denmark's second largest city, and it goes without saying that it is a large club in Denmark."

Thorsteinsson signed a three-year agreement with AGF.

Fulham FC statement
The Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached allowing Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson to join Danish side, Aarhus Gymnastikforening (AGF), on a permanent transfer from July 1st.

The Icelandic Under-21 international spent the most part of last season on loan at Vendsyssel who were unable to avoid relegation from the Danish Superliga.

We’d like to wish Jon all the best in the future and thank him for his services at Fulham.
