Fulham Head Coach Slavisa Jokanovic was very happy with the fight and passion showed by his Fulham side away at Barnsley on Saturday afternoon but lamented some mistakes at crucial moments.

With the Tykes taking the lead twice the Whites showed tremendous spirit to battle back and eventually run out 4-2 winners.

After what was a disappointing September, the Head Coach was particularly pleased to make amends and start off after the International break with a bang.

“After a very bad September to start back after the International with a victory is very important for us,” Jokanovic stressed. “We found a way to score the goals.

“We made some mistakes during the game and we are still a better team with the ball than without it so we need to stick together and try to be more solid.

“We need to try and avoid some of the mistakes that we made today.

“They scored two goals on the counter-attack but we continued to play our game.

“We have to be careful not to make the mistakes we made today. We need to improve ourselves without the ball.

“We need to be a more solid team.”

Despite the victory Jokanovic wants his side to remain grounded and insists the focus is already solely on the clash with table topping Norwich City on Tuesday night.

“The new test for us is going to be on Tuesday night,” the Head Coach insisted. “Today was a very nice afternoon for us and we put in a good display.

“I am very happy with the performance of my team.

“The last game we shot 25 times and missed two penalties but today we tried to find the luck and we did.

“It’s part of football. We need to recover and be ready for a new game on Tuesday night.

“We have to try to improve ourselves and offer a better face again.

“We are finding trouble at home. For some reason we play under pressure and we are not comfortable with the ball like we are away from Craven Cottage.

“The target now is to improve at home. To be fighting for more important things we need to improve at home.

“Today we showed great ambition and great character after they scored the goal early.

“We showed desire today. At home, if the opposite teams score we drop and we need to find the power at home.

“We have offered good thing to fans who see us away but now we need to improve at home."
